My Mum is 83 and for a few hours this afternoon she was getting stabbing pains on and off in her left arm.
She was in so much distress that i ended up calling an Ambulance. They were very good and run some tests on their machine which didnt show up anything but said her blood pressure was very high.
They said they could only see a certain amount without her going into hospital which she declined.
Should i be worried? The Ambulance people didnt seem too worried that she didnt want to go in, surely if they thought it was anything they would have tried to persaud her to go??
It doesn't sound like cardiac pain as the latter tends not to be stabbing. On the other hand one may not see ECG changes for at least 24 hours after a heart attack, so no pluses there.
Reading your OP and between the lines, i would monitor the situation except for her BP which if confirmed does need attention.
Contact your GP, but it doesn't seem like a big deal.
