Hi there can you pull a muscle in the left side of the chest? This pain woke me up it is stabbing and comes and goes. I was lying on my left side leaning on my chest and Ive got lines all down my arm. The pain is over my nipple. I am convinced it is something wrong with my heart. I am going to take 2 paracetemol and a valium and see if that helps. I have had this before. But you always think what if I am missing something. The what ifs come and bug you.

gordie... don't worry, the pain that you are describing does not have, in any way, the characteristics of a heart attack or any cardiac abnormality that would do you harm or be life threatening. Muscular pains in the chest are both common and easily accounted for by some forgotten muscular activity during the day.

Paracetamol and valium is an excelent choice of pain relief in your case.

Hi there thanks for that 3 1/2 hours later I am still alive!!And not in any pain when lying completely still in bed but as soon as I start to move or lean forward at all the pain comes back.
Nice to hear that you are still alive....-;)

Being a muscle problem, it will be painful when you move.........keep moving.
