I had to put eye drops in my father's eyes so I told him to sit up straight and tilt his head back.
We both found it very funny that it is impossible for him to do it - he topples over in the chair.
Later on I asked him to tilt his head whilst he was standing and he would have fell backwards had I not caught him.

He is in his late 70s.

Probably needs to lie on a bed or sofa.
I do my wife's eyedrops; she leans against the kitchen work surface and tilts her head back. Lying down is tricky because you need to get the drops on the lower lid, not the eyeball, so leaning too far back is bad.
I wouldn’t think it’s anything to worry about, hc. As long as he’s generally ok with no other noticeable problems.
Old age...wear and tear of the cervical spine plastered with arthritis which when extended nips off an artery (Vertebral Artery) reducing the blood supply to the brain and causes dizziness (Vertebro-basilar insufficiency)

No big deal....no treatment necessary or available....80% of over 65's have it.
Hc, is he ok while having his washed at the hairdressers?

Thanks all. He cuts his own hair, cloverjo, has done for many years.

I won't give it another thought :)
I can't stand unsupported and close my eyes without rocking all over the place, but then I am acutely deaf in both ears and over 65.
