Just watching a programme about Roy Orbison. It really took me back as I loved him. There was music and chat from his family. One of his sons is so like him.
I saw Roy about 3 times over the years, and i actually cried when he died.

It's a pity that much of his music was constrained by the time limit imposed by the music industry (who only wanted tracks that would fit onto one side of a 45rpm 7" disk). It got better when more time was allowed . . .

Thank you Chris, that's my favourite RO song.
Yes was a great ( solo ) artist, wasn't to bad when he was part of The Travelling Wilburys either.

Ryes tonyav loved the Wilberries too.
The Big O.

//...i actually cried...//

...reminding me of another Orbison favourite song performed another VE favourite singer:

PS: love Orbison with the Wilburys.
I saw it too Caran. Despite all the tragedies, the programme was able to bring across the happiness in his life.

One of my favourites was 'A love so beautiful' off the Mystery Girl album. Can someone post that one here?

Never saw the Big O live, but will be seeing the next best thing in Barry Steele's tribute act again later this year.
Arrod I have seen Barry Steele's show..it is very good
Morning Minty. It'll be the fifth time for me. His accompanying musicians are also very good, especially Boogie Williams.
agree a great band... the female singers were good too..a great show
Thanks Captain2 - much appreciated.

Minty, none of Barry Steele's shows I have seen featured female singers. I've often wondered why, as the promotional material invariably includes them.
he had 2 with him when I saw his show..they doubled up as Dancers
Not sure who else saw last night's show, but there were clips of RO appearing on Pebble Mill at One and, bizarrely, the Wheeltappers and Shunters show. He even had some banter with the guy with the bell.
which channel Arrods ?
Hi Minty. It was on BBC 4 at 11 p.m. - Love Hurts.
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra have done an album, adding quality backing to his songs, like they did twice with Elvis.
ta Arrods..will look on catch up x
