I was woken up this morning with severe stomach cramps. They lasted about 5 minutes and then eased off. I still have a slight ache but nothing I can't cope with. I have Ulcerative Colitis and wonder if it has something to do with that but the ache is further up above my tummy button although the cramps were further down.

Good morning.......sorry about your problems.
You haven't mentioned diarrhea, so I think that the pain is unlikely to be associated with your Ulcerative Colitis.

The pains could well be due to many things, but early days. Monitor the situation for the rest of the day, note and report any other symptoms.e,g nausea or vomiting.

I have diarrhea most of the time due to the UC but it hasn't been any worse. I did feel sick and dizzy but didn't vomit. I will let you know how I get on fr the rest of today. Thanks sqad!
No problem.

Because trying to get to even speak to a Doctor these days is like trying to get into Fort Knox!

Prudie - // Well sqad won't care but I find that so rude AH, why is he the only poster that gets that kind of comment? Can you imagine you saying that in Law when someone asks for Barmaid once she's retired? No I think not. //

My post was a simple fact-based question.

I don't believe it was rude, if Sqad does, and says so, I will be happy to apologise to him, but I am not willing to argue with you if you choose to be offended on his behalf.
I think the answer to your question Andy is - reassurance.
// Can you imagine you saying that in Law when someone asks for Barmaid once she's retired? No I think not. //

That is not comparable - laws are set, and the same for everyone, medical conditions are individual and unique, so asking a stranger to comment on a condition he has not seen is probably not the best way to receive advice, in my view.
^ it was nothing about asking a stranger it was about not practising anymore and you know it. I'm not arguing with you about it (nor your set who will stick up for you). For me you were rude and hurtful , that's all I have to say.
Isn't suggesting to somebody they shouldn't ask a question on Answerbank against the rules? if not it should be.
Prudie - // it was nothing about asking a stranger it was about not practising anymore and you know it. //

I don't know it at all.

What I do know is that Sqad is in his seventies, retired, and living abroad, so I fail to see why he would be upset at my post, or indeed why you are upset on his behalf.
Vulcan - I think the 'FAO' is the problem. There could be loads of us who have experienced the exact same thing as Kath.

Possibly so, but since no-one has suggested that, I don't really see what point you are making.
Seventies? Sqad will be thrilled........
Just a polite reminder that if your answer is judgmental or in any way unhelpful to the thread and question then it will be removed.
"Isn't suggesting to somebody they shouldn't ask a question on Answerbank against the rules"?
this is why people leave the site (or one of the problems anyway) Kathyan asked a specifically fao sqad question...she didnt ask for an opinion from anyone else so why make the remark!
Voltage - the question should be open to everyone, not just Sqad, he's not an expert in all areas.
