I'm sure I'd be able to tell the difference ..
There should be no stigma with rabbit fur - we eat some rabbit but it is widely eaten worldwide, so why not use the fur?
Question Author
it's just ironic that it's real labelled as fake!
i would not wear either, and i did know they were selling the real stuff again, but marking it as fake fur, and some can't tell the difference.
It is ironic :) Rabbit and fox fur must be cheaper than the fake stuff.
appalling either way,
But rabbits are skinned alive in some countries for their fur - BARBARIC !!
and just how are foxes skinned for their fur, its a horrible
trade, just like poaching for ivory. Fur trade is barbaric.
Totally agree. Only an animal needs its fur, we do not !!
nor fake stuff, can't abide fur coats.
I still maintain that rabbit fur is fine if the meat is eaten.
It would be bonkers to skin an animal alive - it would be more difficult because it would be moving and it would bleed, staining the fur.
Far more efficient to kill it and then skin it.
If rabbit fur was more acceptable in the UK then rabbit farms would be better managed and monitored to ensure the rabbits were well looked after and humanely slaughtered.
just the thought turns my stomach. leave the poor rabbits alone, if we eat them so be it, but can't say i liked it when i tried one bit.
Whether it is 'bonkers' or not hc, it IS done in some countries, I have seen the videos unfortunately !!

I agree em, I wouldn't wear fake either ...
If you eat meat and/or wear leather you have no room to object to fur that is farmed for meat.

Object to cruel and bad practice but why waste a perfectly usable product?
Many people object to the way milk is produced and consider it barbaric
Any animal killed humanely for food should have as much of it used as possible. Inhumane treatment is a different issue.

"selling the real stuff again" ? Did they ever stop ?
hc what are you on about ??? I AM objecting to a cruel practice, that is what my post was all about !!! Oh and congrats on using the same timeworn argument about eating meat and wearing leather again !! I won't be reading any more of your ridiculous responses ...
I don't object to the whole animal being used if it is farmed for meat. Its mainly in China that birds and animals are skinned/plucked while still alive and that I do object to.
Fair enough, hereiam, but PETRA has said that it is very rare for animals to be skinned alive, even in China.

I abhor animal cruelty and am in full favour of animal welfare. I know where the rabbits I eat come from, and they are neither imported or farmed.
Fur's fur, I suppose...
Fur enough.
