am sorry to hear you are having difficulty rising from chair, have you thought about a recliner?
FIL has one, charity shop, £150 and he wouldn't be without it for getting him to his feet to shuffle around with his walking aid.

They are not often available and new ones are eye-wateringly expensive.

Please, take care of yourself xx

Its your age sweetie! lol xx
My gramps had one. It reclined, come back up to sitting position and then they seat lifted to bring you to standing position. They cost 1,000's from new but there must be loads of them second hand.

age, sssshh, Islay lol x

ummmm, that's the sort of thingy FIL has, he shuffles to it and it takes the sting out of sitting down, slowly lowers him to whatever sitting position he fancies.
(sometimes he'll lower it right back and have a snooze)
a wallace and gromit ejector ?

I have a recliner without the boost - very useful

Jackdaw - it sounds also as tho you are suffering from muscle disuse loss - so dont forget to exericise ( walk whatever) every day.
You can get the recliners that also lift you to almost a standing position for not a lot of money, they do become available fairly regularly for obvious reasons. One of my clients recently bought a new one for about £800 delivered. Obviously the more you pay the better the chair.
