Sqad.....can you explain to me the connection between daily aspirin and severe night sweats......if there is one which I'm now thinking there is?

What is it that happens to cause this?

Thanks Gx

Hi! gness......I know of no reputable studies that show a relationship between night sweats and taking prophylactic Aspirin in small doses e,g 75-100mgms once a day. I don't think that there is a relationship.
However anecdotally......people have reported night sweats on taking Aspirin, but they are also taking drugs for cardiovascular disease. e.g beta blockers ACE inhibitors and statins and i think it more likely that one or more of these is the cause of night sweats rather than Aspirin alone.
Of course, there are other causes of night sweats and if you are easily fatigued, lost weight or have a persistent cough, then you must get it checked out with your GP .
I hope i haven't missed the point of your post.

Thank you, Sqad.....no problems at all as far as I can tell.....fit as a fiddle.....well maybe an aging fiddle....

Started on aspirin when I had the leg problem but I was so hit and miss......took one when I remembered...

A month or so ago I thought this is silly....it's been advised and I agreed so behave and take one every night....and that is when the night sweats started....I didn't consider the aspirin til this week.....
I haven't taken one since Wednesday....and no night sweats for two nights now....and they were every night......

So.....the best I can do is perhaps to try taking one each morning....see what happens.....then try again with the nightime ones.....see what happens......?

I'm fairly hot as it is without this..... ;-)

Thank you.....x

I bet .
With your medical history, it is important that you continue with Aspirin and "suffer" the night sweats.

It was the history that made me look at how silly I was being so hit and miss....my history and family history.....

Thing is, Sqad...the night sweats make one very slippery and difficult to hang on to...... :-(....x
LOl...LOL... you let me worry about the "slipperyness."
