I agree. I don't buy anything 'low fat'.
they say the problem is sugary foods rather than fatty foods (though I'm greatly oversimplifying). I'm not competent to judge but if there's any debate on this I'll read with interest.
Sooo confusing. They say children get used to the sweet taste in stuff and cant manage without. Ive now got used to the taste of low fat and unsweetened foods, even though I havnt lost weight, I couldnt go back to anything else now
Food, diet, obesity levels is yet another area which constantly draws conflicting advice from the 'experts'.

Whether it is smoking, drinking, food, people will do what they want and eat what they want. If we listened to these experts and weighed everything up we would die of starvation.

... As we know, "Low fat" things, that should have fat in, have their fat replaced by sugar. So maybe it's a suggestion that we should eat "honest" fat? :)
minimal carbs, plenty of protein, good cheeses etc, lots of veg and fruit like cherries, raspberries and apples have worked well for me.....lost 3 stone and holding it off.
Nutrition is one of those areas were you can get "experts" to support any point of view. It has a history of pronunciations and of course it's riddle with the fad diets. In the end it's always been about simple arithmetic really.
I have never dieted in my life nor have I ever owned a set of scales.

My weight has fluctuated greatly, largely due to hormonal interventions from contraception and HRT which caused considerable weight gain.

I eat what I want when I want. Generally it is a healthy balanced diet but when I am eating poorly due to lack of appetite I will scoff high protein, fat and sugar snacks in an attempt to get some calories in me.

Personally, I ignore the 'experts' too many are funded by powerhouses in the food industry.
To be honest, I am getting fed up with this constant bickering between the so-called experts !

The reason that I am overweight, is because I eat far too much food, irrespective of what kind of food.
yes eccles I do think that some of these "experts" are covertly funded by vested interests.
I never listen to what so called experts say, ever, and just do as I want and always will! Neither myself, my son or my OH are overweight and we enjoy 'unhealthy' foods as well as 'healthy'!
I have just wolfed down a scrumptious bag of Cheesy Wotsits, so I had better not make any further comments !
