I've read this a couple of times and still don't grasp why not showering after PE makes you less fit but still. School showers were my biggest dread when I went to secondary. Got out of them as soon as I could but it didn't stop me trying in PE. How about you?

The argument is that people who want to avoid showering deliberately put less effort into PE as they don't want to sweat. I used to hate showering at school but I loved sport so didn't hold back but apparently many do
The only thing I had about showers at school was that they were always flippin' cold.

Didn't stop me loving PE and Games, either, Prudie. My second favourite subject.
One radical solution would be to make the showers compulsory.

Me too, well loved gym and dance, hated games. I don't believe kids will think I'm not going to try because then I'll sweat and need a shower. They just won't shower!
Also the lesbian gym teacher perving at us ((((shudder)))))

my verrucas were the longest lasting in history lol lol lol
Showers were compulsory at my school. If you forgot your towel you got dried on your shirt.
I think a lot of girls don't want to get their hair wet as it takes so long to style
We had a PE teacher at high school who insisted on watching us shower, it got to the point where most of us took swimsuits to wear. We tried complaining about her but nothing was ever done about it.
There simoly wasn't time for showering after PE at our school. Just enough time to get changed then on to the next class.
Games(as opposed to PE) were held last thing in the afternoon and if you had a shower after them you would have missed your bus home....which would have been quite a hike for some people ....
Was compulsory when I was at school, which is why I find the story so odd. Don't teachers do their job any more ? Or are there worries about being labelled a paedophile ?

I don't know OG but when I was at school they were compulsory and regimented in the early forms - no curtains, all in together, the PE gestapo watching. I doubt it would be OK now to force girls, good job I think.
You also had the mick taken if you were a late-developer ;-(

Oh yes cupid, that I remember, had fried eggs until I was at least 15 :-)
Our school was so old it didn't have showers, we never found it a problem not having a shower, in fact we were relieved.
It was compulsory at my secondary school after games, gym or P.E.
I loved PE but I always thought public showers were unhygenic, varrucas and nasty bits in the shower stall etc. I always felt a bit grubbier after the shower.
Our school didn't have showers, very very old school though. I'm quite sure that the girls in our schools would have been just as happy with one of our pe teachers watching them as us chaps would have ben with one of theirs... ;0) ahhh teenage crushes
