This Is Me Being Serious

I know I don't usually post serious things but this is not asking for jokey answers.
For the last three months or so, I have had this horrible feeling of what I can only describe as 'impending doom' I have this constant feeling that something catastrophic is going to happen in my life and I can't shake it off.
I wake at night and it's there, this constant 'worry' It's at the back of my mind all the time. My life is very pleasant, I have no obvious troubles or anxieties, apart from my dog being poorly on occasions.
Is it some kind of 'mild' form of depression?

I do know that sometimes stuff can get triggered and you wont know where its coming from. Its good to talk about it - just how you feel because you may find there is a very logical explanaton or it lifts completely with talking with someone understanding. Its worth it.
Dont forget - only thoughts Tilly and what you think isn't real but it can influence how you feel so important - if you can replace the thought with a happy/positive thought - that takes you out of the worrying thought but takes abit of practice.
If I'm feeling lousy I find saunas very helpful or play uplifting music & go for a walk. music works best. My doctor has a habit of laughing at everything (if you are ill - he laughs, poor blood results - he laughs) and you come out feeling good and cant help laughing - its bizzare; but you are fit to strangle him sometimes. He is the most fantastic doctor. It will be all ok x

GP is your first call, agree with those who have suggested this.
You should never feel alone when going through something like this and the simple act of talking about it to a medical professional may ease the feelings.
Your GP will investigate as to the cause, physical or psychological and then work a solution out with you.
Many of us get like this, I know I did. I went for a course of CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) to ease my anxiety. It isnt like counselling exactly, but it teaches you methods to ease the stress you are feeling towards every day situations.
