I have had watery diarrhoea since last night and the odd stomach pains but oddly enough I also feel a bit hungry should I eat or just stick to drinking water today until I return to normal?

Eat...high fibre
If you feel hungry, I would eat. You`ll feel weak if you don`t. Just eat something bland.
Why high fibre?

Eat though...your body wants food.
To absorb watery contents
I would eat toast and banana. See how you feel. Try not to eat too much else, maybe some mash potato later if you are hungry again.

I advise low fibre rather than high fibre personally.
....and be sure to keep hydrated, plenty of water as you're losing fluids rapidly. They need to be replaced.

Thanks guys for the advice strange that may was just thinking the same toast and a banana...do you think its ok to drink lucozade only other half just brought a bottle back from shops said it would do me good but not so sure
Well, it wouldn`t do you any harm but you don`t really need it if you keep your fluids up and have something to eat.
Stay off dairy for 3 days. This is what my GP told me. I would also recommend bananas and dry toast, and lots of fluids. I had this bug recently and also drank lucozade.
Boiled eggs are supposed to be good for "binding" things.

Also, try Dioralyte, you can get it from the chemist or most supermarkets. It's good for replacing the electrolytes lost.

I hope you feel better soon.
For the short term you could take some Imodium.
