Can you take a pregnancy test whilst having a period?

Yes, 2 girls I worked with were pregnant even though they were still having periods, 1 of these girls had a period right up until she gave birth to a healthy boy, the other stopped at 5 months, but it was a shock to both of them because neither of these girls had been trying for a baby.    :-)
