I have worked out that I have had just 10 hours sleep since Monday morning, give or take half hr, and it is now Thursday! I am utterly exhausted.I've always been a bad sleeper but even I am struggling this week. I go to bed and just lay there. I get up and read for a while, that doesnt work. Hot bath, hot drink............... nothing. Finally fall asleep around 4am and a few hours later I have to be up.

Help?? : (

Smow if you can't sleep do deep relaxation exercises 30 minutes can keep you going for ages Its what I've done most of my life it makes a huge difference
You have my full sympathy. It's debilitating. It's my OH that keeps me awake (and not like that!!!) he fidgets and cuddles me, but each time he does it he wakes me up. It means that I don't ever fall into a proper sleep.

There always comes a point where I'm in tears over the smallest things, it's just exhaustion.
ditto for you then Ummm I think I need to get the AB women together and take classes
Umm, try separate beds. I used to have phases when I sleep talked and thrashed around. DH and I would sleep separately for a few nights to enable us both to catch up on sleep.
I am lucky if I get five hours of sleep per night. Sometimes I fall asleep during the day, but only for a few minutes at a time. Have to live with it I suppose, or take sleeping tablets, which I don't want to do.

Thats just it - I was almost in tears because nobody had emptied bin in kitchen, then had just filled it to max and so when i took the binliner out to put in bin outside, it ripped coz it was so full!
I've just brought some earplugs that rockyracoon recommended on here, (which reminds me, I need to ask her a question), and they seem to be making a difference. Over the years I've developed in to an incredibly light sleeper and the slightest thing wakes me up. I've used these for the last three nights and I am noticing a difference, I've only woken up twice a night so far (that's progress for me), and mostly have been able to drift straight back to sleep. And I can still hear the alarm in the morning!
Separate beds is not really practical.

He does understand and will sleep on the sofa for a few hours so hopefully I've dropped into a deep sleep.

Rowan, I can sleep, although I go to bed late and get up early, it's him, he turns into a very needy person in his sleep. It's hard to be angry with someone who just wants a cuddle. He's like my cat!!

The only thing that used to help a fraction, occasionally, was the ceiling fan in the bedroom. If I put that on that I would listen to the hum, but hubby says its far to cold to have that on so the room is silent now.

I actually have to go to work now till 2pm : ( but please keep any ideas coming, I will try anything! xx
Smow...that's what happens to me. They all know that if I'm crying over a minor thing it's because I'm very tired.
ummmm - their arms feel like a ton weight, don't they. My husband wanted to hold me in his arms all night so I had to wait until he was asleep and then carefully remove myself so that I could sleep. They are lovely though, and who would hurt someone who loved you so much.
Redman has this little quirk... I was going to put little thing but I know what you lot are like.. he keeps checking I am still in bed with him but he does it by reaching out and touching my bum... waking with a start 5 or 6 times a night then listening to the snoremonster is not conducive to sleep so I either head for the couch or the spare room
Yes, Star, so heavy. The trouble with him is everytime I move, and I try to move very very quietly, he moves with me....grrrr.
Smow, I'm exactly the same. I'm lucky if I get around 2 hours sleep. The thing with me though is I am wide awake during the day too which I find really odd. I am extra-sensitive and very tearful aout the stupidest thing.

You have my sympathy :( xx
Lol....so it's not just me, Rowan. We don't have a spare room :-( and I have my nephew moving in in Feb...so even less room.

Vodka - Im wide awake all day too, isnt it maddening!
ummmm - you made me laugh comparing your OH to a cat, lol
Silly idea Smow, have you tried to say night-night to bits of your body?
Clench toes and relax, say night-night, then the feet, then ankles, then calves, then knees, then thighs and so on, by the time I get to me hips I'm off.
If the fan helps Smow, can you have some background noise in the bedroom that's not going freeze the whatsits off the old man?
Smowball, you mentioned having the fan on helps. I also cannot sleep if it's too quiet, possibly something to do with being in the RAF and getting used to aircraft taking off at night. These days, or nights, I have the radio on very quietly, so quiet that I can't hear what's being said but there is just enough background noise to settle me.

alba - no its not silly and yes ive tried that, it didnt work for me but I have heard it does with others.
