Pre treatment, apart from hip pain, did you have leg problems? I can dig, lift and move heavy weights and bend easily but I am having great difficulty walking and climbing stairs....a real nuisance for a rambler and bird watcher!
My legs will suddenly feel incredibly heavy, seize up and refuse to work after walking a few yards....there are only so many times I can stand still pretending to admire the view. :-) No great pain except in one calf.....they just won't work!
I will, of course see a GP when I have worked out our new appointment system but wouldn`t mind some AB input first.
I'm miffed too because I'm never ill but I'm giving in now and admitting I may have a problem. Damn!

Have you had a hip replacement already, gness.....
Pain from the hip, usually radiates to the base of the spine OR to the knee and is made worse by exercising.

You have described a pain in BOTH legs which come on preceding exercise.

What you are describing is not typical of pain from an osteo-arthritic hip.

Will be interested to hear the result of your GP consultation.

No DT. Pain in hip for a while now so being me I thought....finish the garden then do something. But the walking problem is a big nuisance. Keep thinking it will go away but....sod it.....it`s not and you know what a fidget I am.
Sorry to hear you are not fully fighting (or mauling) fit.

An interim suggestion would be a mobility scooter. Think of the mayhem you could cause. You would of course have to customise it. xx
sound something more nerve-system related to me, especially if both legs. Don't know what Sqad thinks to that. I occasionally find that the right leg needs a kick-start very first thing in the morning....
Question Author
Oh heck. Thank you Sqad. Really thought in the beginning it was going to be a hip problem but must admit to second thoughts after the last couple of months.
I have been able to walk through it slowly until yesterday. Eight hours at Lord's and, despite moving regularly, I was stuck at the gates.
Daughter hauled me into a taxi, and half an hour of slow moving at St. Pancras waiting for my train eased it somewhat.
Will have to see a GP.... after the paralympics.....though. Spectator not participant though I feel I would qualify at the moment.
I may make a grumpy patient.
Thank you.
sorry to hear that gness x

o no, I'm picturing something with scythes on the wheels

Hi MrsO. Bit cheesed with it now...it's slowing me down. If it comes to it I will have powered roller skates I think. And a sail maybe. x
Question Author
Scythes!! Yes.
Bed rest for you gness, in your best neglige and Sqad will be round forthwith xx waiting for news of your exploits at the weekend
Question Author
Sqad. Would nerve pain be more painful? Not in great pain...just stuck.
Mind you....no sense no pain maybe.
Question Author
Hi Sib. Bed rest would be awful Sqad or no Sqad! Great weekend despite being slow. x
Mr Alba's uncle has had 2 hips and 3 knees done (behave!!) I'll ask him next time I see him.
{hugs} gness xx
Gness - tell Sqad you are wearing silk knicks and he'll give a more accurate diagnosis
Gness, sorry to go off subject, but where did you post your Q about that programme on ITV last week? I can't find it
Question Author
I'll make sure they're not the knicks G daughter sprinkled glitter into. That was too much bling. :-)
Question Author
CB Thurs. 22.04 MrsO.
gness, that sounds horrible, especially for someone who's naturally quite active. I hope they sort you out soon. x
Glitter in your drawers? Ouch!
Question Author
Thank you Kiki. Can use acupuncture if it gets painful but if there is something wrong that won't work.
It was where the glitter ended up that was a problem. Took ages to shift. x
