I have just come ba ck from the vets after picking up my dog. I told the nurse to put my change into the RSPCA charity box. she told me THE BOX STOLEN WHILE SHE WAS IN BACK OF OFFICE. AND IT WAS FULL OF MONEY. I am fuming to think that some grotty low life has taken money off defencless animals money that could save animals lives. I hope their pets never need this wonderful service that relys on charity to keep it going. not only that quite a bit of it was MY money that i had put in over the last couple of months. to think that its gone to feed some bastards drug habit or on drink makes me so angry. sorry about language but I am fuming.

This happened at my local RSPCA charity shop too, so they now no longer keep it on show. This is a shame because if people can't see it, then no money goes in - like you say, grotty low life.

in the store where i work we have a red cross box on the counter but it is chained to the tillpoint and they would need a set of wire cutters or an angle grinder to get away with it,
They are the lowest of the low.
Desperate people do not think of consequences. Theft is a common enough way to fund a drug addiction.

The chain is a good idea though.
It may have been stolen buy booze and drugs, maybe.
Really trigger !!!! More likely to buy booze, fags and drugs.

It's like Cluedo!
The old Lady
With the scabby cat
In the waiting room!
;o)
Or how many chav's with bull dogs mmmmm.
so are we saying that genuine need excuses crime?
Kendra - try an alms box in a remote country church........though they did nail someone on CCTV when they tried doing the same thing at Gwithian, near Hayle. Who knows if it was the same person but both were leveraged out of the wall - and for what? Perhaps a fiver at best.
Yep, some people will nick just about anything.
I live in a fairly small village with an almost non existent crime rate, yet all the charity boxes around are chained up, we had a red cross one stolen when we had our shop, any future ones were also chained down. Tony, not all people who have bulldogs are chavs, I have one an am certainly not a chav, now plumbers who wear pink skirts ....
Oi traci, I now that, but not all cat owners are old women either. Pink skirts GRRR
It's not what the charity's for, but the fact that someone could stoop so low, which disgusts me. Our local Hospice collection box was stolen a few weeks back.

In answer to trigger happy the reception area was empty at the time no old ladies with cats. someone just walked in grabbed it and ran out. not i suspect to buy knitting patterns bread or milk. I have been on my backside with 3 children and a sick hubby but never ever stole. what we didnt have we went without. If I found out my kids had done something like that they wouldnt have sat down for a week.
