The sun must be over the yardarm...somewhere.
It's never too early!!!

What gin do you have? I've been really impressed with the range of gin in Waitrose this Christmas, Mr Cake bought me a bottle of Sipsmith which I am looking forward to opening.

Merry Christmas/Boxing Day/New Year etc.
I have gin, I just dont have any bloody tonic.

However, the wine fridge is fully stocked. Phew.
Its after lunch somewhere in the world.....
Eccles - got my brother-in-law a bottle of this and looking forward to tasting it - they say it's so smooth you can drink it neat on the rocks. Had a snifter and one could detect a tiny hint of lemon on the upper notes - smelt liek what Tanqueray Ten should have been.......let us know of what you think....

sandywroe I like your thinking :)

Hi Ecclescake, my boss bought me a bottle of Bombay Sapphire, yummy! And a very merry festive season to you too.

NoMercy, I usually have slimline but I now drink it with soda water and some fresh lime! (heathen that I am lol)

Yep Craftypig, it sure is!
Your wine fridge is fully stocked, NoM! I would have expected it to be half empty by now.
I've hada Sipsmith before and love it as it is IMHO a gin true to juniper, with as you say a tough of citrus. I have a bottle of Millers that I just cannot finish as it tastes of distilled cucumber to me. I bent the ear of the guy who sold it to me who suggested I tried Millers neat over ice, it was a revelation.

Sipsmith sloe gin is definitely one of the best on the market, Mr Cake also bought a bottle of that - he calls it his 'medicine'!
I have to say I'm rather partial to the Aldi "Oliver Cromwell 1599 Premium Gin" - very aromatic & some quite complex tastes

But my sister reckons it's too 'perfumed' and lackes 'oomph' - any other opinions? -
When Aldi re-open I'll happily try some Dave!

Hi redhelen, enjoyed some Smirnoff yesterday :)

sunny-dave, got to admit I'm a Gordon's, Tanquery or Bombay Sapphire gal. Although my friend gave me a bottle of Islay Gin a few weeks ago...too strong for me.
Loving James Corden's magic coat at the end of that video, one second he's not wearing it, then suddenly he is wearing, then next shot it's gone again :)
Too much gin Chuck???
Blackwoods from the Shetland Islands is also an interesting juniper-rich one.....good martini with those but versatile for a tonic. They make a Voddie too, though most of that I bet ends up in the alcohol tank known as Norway.
Happy Boxing day to you haysi, glass of wine for me. Have a gin, you know you want to.
I like mine with slimline, ice, lime wedge and cube of root ginger.
Too early for me, I haven't even had my breakfast biscuits from the fancy tin yet... ;oP
China, what, no birthday cake ?!
