You cant. If that is the way you are you are stuck with it! Just find interests to occupy your time so that there is less time to analyse!

Try not to think to much about it
get to the answer
Watch a film or read a book.
Maybe you need some relaxation and stress relieving regime for a while...if possible try to take some "me" time and de-stress if you can.

You have to find something to think about that you enjoy or at the very least don't mind thinking about. When the unwanted thoughts come, make yourself think about something else....soap opera family trees are usually quite good...complicated enough to make you stop thinking about anything else but totally non-threatening.
(I am assuming that you are thinking about things that you do not particularly want to think about or problems you are having difficulty solving.)
make a list of the things that are on your mind.... cross through the ones you can do nothing about
then next to each of the others put one thing you can do towards solving the problem and just do a bit when you can

If its 'he said she said' stuff... ask yourself do I need to apologise for anything if so get it out of the way and then you can close that too..

Will just help you feel that things are a bit more controlled You are going through a busy spell at the moment though once you are in a proper job with a bit more of a routine it may get better too
I used to feel like this all the time before. I'd stick on my Friends DVDs or Hot Fuzz to take my mind off things, but the best thing was to do a 2000 piece jigsaw puzzle.

These days I don't have time to think about things.
you stop over analysing as you get older, maybe its because you relax more and care less? so you may not always be that way. :)
I definitely care less as I have gotten older. And I say what I think which I never used to do. I have become very hardened now to people I don't like and I tell them what I think of them cos I just don't care any more. If I have things on my mind, and I can't sleep, I breath in deeply thru my nose thinking only nice things, and then blow out through my mouth imagining I am blowing out all the bad stuff (or imagine the nasty people I am thinking about being blown away in a hurricane). It seems to work and calm me down, and I get off to sleep better. Maybe its just in my mind, but it works for me.

go down to 'Mindful breathing' and practise that ... its good anytime but especially if you can't get to sleep at night! You can also do it anywhere. Try for 5 mins at a time and build it up when you can.
