I have been given a menu I am attending which is in Chinese, if anyone knows of any general starters mains and desserts in Chinese I'd like to know. Or of any website (I have looked at many) that can give me some idea.
It's to see if any of us can interpret the menu before attending.

Good luck...isn't there something like a dozen or more major regional variations or dialects?

Trime: there are lots of Chinese dialects but the written Chinese is the same.

Trim you are wasted here...

Translations I've encountered include 'Deer's Panis' and 'Grass Turtle'
Spider: what are you attending? Are you learning Chinese?

No it's a family Come Dine With Me and it's a just a little quiz to see who comes up with the nearest answers with a small prize as a reward.
Thanks for all the response.
