Eventually went into the front room (lounge for the posh ones) to find broken ornaments on the floor. I can find no explanation for this. I have no pets. I listened to the local news to hear if there was an earth tremor. No reports of it. I have no explanation. I do have a few valuable broken heirlooms.

Seriously though, you haven't been burgled have you? Broken heirlooms sounds upsetting - they are often worth more sentimentally than anything else :(

No windows open overnight on ground floor. i don't believe in ghosts, poltergeists etc. Maybe i will live to regret that statement.
