The previous "Weight Gain" thread can be found here
I thought I'd set this up for everyone here as the other thread no longer appears in the latest posts box.

The last discussion was about ways to do exercise

Personally, I like running, cycling and squash - but I know one day I will have to give some of these activities up as I am plagued with "Dodgy Knee Syndrome".

Also, for those who exercise a lot, do you ever feel you are doing so just to justify the awful things you consume the rest of the time?

I hope everyone reports in okay! Good luck! And click here to subscribe by email!

Thanks for your kind words Wendilla and GOOD FOR YOU.............I have just been thinking that without this "thing" we have going here I would have kept on going but it would have been a lonely journey and not half as much fun.
Where are you Notafish and Theotherhalf...........hope to hear from you also today.
How is our editor doing?????????????
Onwards and downwards..............
Hi everyone, Well done! I couldn't get on here yesterday as I was so busy. I weighed myself on Tuesday, and I had put on a pound. :-(. I now weigh nine stone, thirteen and a half pound. I read somewhere, maybe on this thread, that it's good to aim for a lower weight than your real goal, because it makes you lose weight quicker. I want to be nine and a half stone ultimately, so I should aim for nine stone I suppose. I don't really think nine stone would suit me though. I have to keep wearing long tops to hide the fact I can't do up any of my trousers or skirts. All I want is for my clothes to fit me again. Why am I so slow at losing weight? I wouldn't be losing weight at all if it wasn't for this thread. My weight would've just slowly crept up and up, so thanks to everyone for your help. :-)
Hi Notafish this is what I have done.Half way through June I gave myself a target of 2 stone to lose before my birthday end of Oct. I was just 3lbs short then but now I am just 1lb short of that. bringing me down to 13 st 10lbs. I have now given myself another target date of xmas to lose the 10lbs or less.I would like to get back to 10 stone as that has been my weight and comfortable at that .It has taken me awhile but I have had good variation in my diet and I do have the occasional treat. If you don't you can easily get fed up .I don't eat between meals and I have plenty fish chicken and meat and veg. Morrisons do a lovely loaf low in fat and it toasts crispy. I have eggs 3 times a week. Don't use lots of ready made low meals. I have skimmed milk.Hope this helps.
Thanks for your help Wendilla, I will try that low fat bread as I do eat sandwiches regularly. Also I shall make an effort to get up early enough to have an egg for breakfast instead of cereal. Have a good weekend :-)
You're good people - I have been up and down but am still at starting weight, but I haven't really been trying - flu and thinking I was going to lose my job got in the way.
Good Morning Everyone,

I am a bit up today.....under a pound but glad for the warning because my portion sizes are getting sneakingly bigger so that's where I must cut down. I also must get back on the exercises which seem to have faded into a distant memory so they start today. They are very gentle exercises and last for about 15 min and give me a good start to the day.
I shall keep looking in today to see what is happening here. Onwards and downwards.......
Good Morning Xstitcher don't despair just get back on track. I have lost another 1lb that is bringing me now to 13 9lbs. Done the 2 stone I wanted to lose before end of oct. I will have to be careful this week as I done a family roast dinner on Sunday and we had xmas pudding but as I am not mad mad on it I didn't have any. Portions are very important that is why I believe it having proper meals and not over indulging.Just have a bit of everything but in moderation.
Hi Boxtops, X stitcher, Wendilla and all, I have stayed the same weight. I'm not surprised as I had too many treats last week. I'm going be better this week.
have a good week everyone. :-)
Notafish you don't seem to have much weight to lose to get to 9 and a half stone. Why don't you have a really good 2 weeks then be careful for 2 weeks as it is heading towards xmas and you don't want to be putting on more before then. Good luck Onwards and Downwards
Thanks Wendilla. I know it's not much to lose, but I seem to be going slowly. I only want to be able to do up my trousers again. :-) Onwards and Downwards!
Hi Boxtop, Wendilla, and Notafish, Oh I had to laugh Notafish....all you want to do is be able to do up your trousers again.......why not buy a new pair lol. I do though think Wendilla came with the best idea of really doing the eating bit and excercising seriously for 2 weeks. You will be amazed at what you can accomplish and even more amazed at how good it makes you feel. I have cut down on all my portions today and haven't starved to death as yet so ........ Onwards and downwards...........
I had to come on here this morning and confess. Last night I was late in getting back and I had forgot to take chicken breast out of freezer.I knew I hadn't any ready meals as I don't use them much but sometimes have a couple for emergency. So then in my head I could smell the fish and chip shop and nothing could stop me from going there. This proves that I can still be led astray but I do know that that will be my treat and I am back on track. I ate the fish and pineapple fritter but only had a few of the crispy chips as I am not too keen on them after they have been wrapped they seem to go soggy. I feel better now I have told you so it's Onwards and Downards .
Oh Wendilla you do make me laugh. Believe me if I had a chippy near me I would be the most overweight person in the world. I love chips but eat only the oven chips......can you feel my halo glowing.........That you can live near the smell of one and only sin once in a while is mind blowing.
We were out for lunch today and one of us was still smoking. I found my nostrals inhaling like mad when she had a few puffs.......smoking is still allowed inside in Spain........I ate 2 chocolates that the owner kindly put beside us with our coffee....until I stopped smoking I wouldn't touch a chocolate with a barge poll....funny that I like them now.
My fifth grandchild was born two days ago with a head of hair you wouldn't believe. I'll see her between Christmas and the New Year´

I was telling one of our lunchers about us. I could see a mini interest in the idea but nothing more. What do your friends think about us.......................
Congratulations on the birth of your granddaughter. I have 2 Grandsons one from each of my 2 children. They grow up so fast 13 and 8. I stopped smoking 13 years ago when my first g/s was born. And that is when I started with weight problem but will never go back to smoking again.I am not within walking distance of chippie thank goodness. Just have the occasional treat but its weird that when you get the idea in your head you want some you are just dragged there but as I say I can rectify it but this does not work with everyone .
X stitcher congratulations on the birth of your granddaughter!
By the way, it's every pair of trousers and every skirt that I can't do up. I don't want to replace my whole wardrobe, I'm determined to do up my flies again :-).
I'm being good so far this week. Hello and goodluck to you, Wendilla and all. O and D.

Hello jamxtart. I hope this thread helps you, it's been helping me. We weigh-in on a Wednesday. I weigh myself before breakfast, first thing in the morning. I think I've done ok this week so think I maybe have lost a pound. Good luck everyone!
Welcome to our friendly little group jamxtart. I hope you will find that we can support you and you support us.
I can see the problem theotherhalf when it is all your clothes. I love the sound of the Laura Ashley dress.
Tomorrow is the weigh in day and I'm hoping for a happy day but still have a terrible conscience over those two chocolates.
We are returning to a very freezubg cold and perhaps snowy Denmark on Friday until Jan. Our "cold" weather here during the day is between 15 to 18 degrees so nothing to complain about.
Thank you all for your kind congratulations.......any ideas for son in law Christmas gifts?????
Talk to you tomorrow............
