The previous "Weight Gain" thread can be found here
I thought I'd set this up for everyone here as the other thread no longer appears in the latest posts box.

The last discussion was about ways to do exercise

Personally, I like running, cycling and squash - but I know one day I will have to give some of these activities up as I am plagued with "Dodgy Knee Syndrome".

Also, for those who exercise a lot, do you ever feel you are doing so just to justify the awful things you consume the rest of the time?

I hope everyone reports in okay! Good luck! And click here to subscribe by email!

yup shes all over the place....
yeh...I saw her popping up in recent posts....such a giveaway......lol
You always get one that comes along and tries to be funny . Joins at 17 21pm today and causing havoc already but you will be ignored on this post.
Hi
i haven't read the thread and I don't know how old you are but I would stop over exercising at 40! Knees? Hips? Especially if you are not a size 0!
Hi Rosamundjohn this thread was started a few weeks ago on A STICKY in body and soul. It wasn't started on exercise it was just for all to say how they are losing weight each week .Yes I agree exercise does not suit everyone . I am 72 but I only do gentle exercises and that's not every day I would much rather eat healthily to lose weight which I am doing .You can still see the thread on Body and soul but it will be removed soon as the ED moved us to here.
Good luck for tomorrow morning everyone :-)
Thanks for the good luck wishes not a fish. I hope you are succeeding and still writing down everything. It seems to be working for you.

I am a happy bunny today having seen the scales needle go downwards 1 kilo. I have been really watching the portions size and it's paying off, even though I do get so hungry before tea. Baby carrots are a safe and good thing to pop in the mouth when you feel you really need something but I can't get them here. I have taken to cutting up swedes in thin strips and am quite content with them. It's a long time since I have gone down so I am very pleased.

Just knowing that my trusty onwards and downwards brigade is out there and we're all rooting for each other is a great help.

I hope there will be lots of good news today.
well done to all those, like me are trying to lose weight. Ive been with sliiming world 4 weeks and lost 5 and half pounds. I would like to have lost more but boss woman says its the best way to lose slowly. But I already feel so much better and my clothes feel better, so yes, onward and upward, maybe a stone by christmas
Hi XSTITCHER good for you and The Other Half yes it is best if you get it off slowly . Well last week I stayed the same and week before lost a pound so was extremely good this week plenty of fish and chicken meals and done 2 lbs loss this week. I am now 2lbs short of my 2stone loss before my birthday end of month. Going out Friday for a chinese meal and its a place where you help your self so no telling but I think I deserve it . Then I will aim for the other stone before xmas .So Onwards and Downwards .
Well done Wendilla, I am so pleased for you. You enjoy your Chinese evening. We are allowed a little treat from time to time. Like me you have gone over to a new eating pattern which will always be with you so one nice treat now and then isn't going to spoil it all. (You and I are too old and too wise to let it do that!! lol)

Onwards and downwards !!
I'm so sorry I forgot to give you a big pat on the back TheOtherHalf. I so agree with you that the rewards are mind blowing. Keep it up....onwards and downwards...
Well done everyone! I have lost a pound and a half this week. Yippee!!
I had a feeling this was going to be a good one, because I'd been writing everything down, that I ate, and it looked good to me.
well done all, keep up the good work :o)
i keep a tub of wafer thin roast chicken in the fridge if im feeling peckish inbetween meals. its only 8 cals a slice, and its nice too.(i prefer tescos, 450g tub for £3 to asdas, which tastes a bit 'rubbery')
also, i keep some little tubs of tesco choc mousse in the freezer for a little night time treat (8 in a pack for 98p. 66 cals and only 6g carbs each)
as for a little bit of extra exercise, which only takes a minute or two, each time when i get to the top of the stairs i do 50 steps on and off the landing step. they get me really puffing and the heart rate going! - so that might be worth doing too ladies to help things along?
Hi Notafish well done. Looobyloo yes these choc mousses are great when you feel like something chocolatey and the stair steps good idea but you didn't say how much you have lost this week. Good luck for next week and Onwards and Downwards all.
Well done everybody. I have lost about 3lbs in 2 weeks and can feel it around my belly which was getting really big.
I have not had any wine for 3 weeks now and just having fruit bran flakes in the morning and Weight Watcher dinners.
Been having green grapes and dates for snacks.

Good idea about the wafer thin chicken and choc mouses looby, will give them a try.
I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday Wendilla. You said it is at the end of Oct. so we must be getting near to it.
I'll bet you can see the difference in photos from last years' photos if you have some.

Onwards and downwards...........
Thank you Xstitcher yes it is tomorrow and no won't be wearing baggy tops to hide the bulges.
Hi TRT well done .How much do you want to lose? I am now going to try for another stone before xmas and that should be ok but may try for a little more . off to Asda this morning to do my weekly shop as it is best if you plan for the whole week.
