It probably got removed after it turned into a slanging match between certain ABers, also there were people on there advising him to throw himself under a train or put his head on a train track when a train was coming. Some people are just sick and have no compassion.
And it`s quit possible that it was (as one AB`er said) a wind-up.

It had that ring of untruth about it.
i couldnt believe people could be so nasty...i understand that some people put fake Q's on here but i would never risk saying something horrible just in case it is real. if they did kill themselves i would feel partly to blame.
It is possible it was a wind-up,but also possible it was genuine, who are we to say either way. Advising someone to throw themselves under a train is irresponsible anyway as it puts other people at risk of injury or death and mental trauma, not just the suicidal person.
I believe someone actually told him 'if he was going to do it then get on with it and can we see it on you tube'

Thanks for the info. Some people are SO sick! (I'm talking about the smart-Alecs with their stupid answers! I wondered whether or not it was a wind up but you can't take the chance and treat it as one. The AB is the only outlet for some people and I think that fact should be respected by all!

I'm not a bit surprised at some of the posts on that thread. They were very similar to the comments made on another thread where somebody committed suicide online, egged on by other users:

Just read your link Ethel. Shocking!
Guys, it was a cruel hoax.

And guess who's back this morning ... "lungcancer"

What a coincidence !!!

I remember that one Ethel,it was a really sad and shocking story :-(
Shame on you Jayne....showing your face on this thread....I don't know how you dare!!

Jayne, how can you know for sure it was a hoax? None of us can so I prefer to err on the side of caution.
Daffy and Tups....

there is your 'caring' advisor telliing people to put their head on the track!!

Jayne.
I know full well who it was kjc,I just didn't want to name names. :-(
I hope that if Mike wasn't a hoaxer he is ok and has sought some help.
I can't see why people automatically assume that the poster of such threads are winding them up. They may be, they may not, who cares? Perhaps someone else reading through who was feeling similar might have taken comfort from others stories so to me, i can't see the problem. If it helped just 1 other person then some good came from it.

There are a lot of very depressed people in this world and i think that to come onto an anonymous website such as this and post your feelings is not that much of a ridiculous idea. Often just getting stuff written down when you're feeling this way can be an enormous help.

I think in situations such as this, we must remember that we all deal with things differently, where one person finds the idea of posting in this frame of mind ridiculous, another can see that this is perhaps how they would do things.

I can see someone in this state of mind maybe hoping for some kind words in their hour of need, whether they are serious or just making a cry for help, i don't see that some of the comments made on that thread last night were necessary in the slightest.

So what if it was a wind up, ya know, even if listening to some other peoples stories helped someone out there deal with some stuff then is it such a bad thing ?

Quite sad to see what that thread descended into if it was genuine.
Daffy, I have known three people who committed suicide after genuine cries for help, and I know their mindset, and that joker did not display it.

I have also seen too many posts by hoaxers, one in particular, and the common linguistic pattern.

He claimed to have Googled suicide and found AnswerBank.

Have you tried that? It does not work. It was a lie.

He picked a dreadful, horrid topic, and posted a cruel wind up.

And if you think I am bad for having a go at him for such a vile hoax, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Oh, and have you noticed ... "lungcancer" is back. What a coincidence.
I can see both sides to this on-going argument.

I read Mikes post and decided it was a wind-up, however, I decided against making any sort of contribution to it. (Remember the ruskie and all her dead brothers ?)

I'm not sure that a Q&A forum where the answers are given purely via keyboard is a route that many genuine suicides would take...........

I abhor the conduct of those users on the site provided in Ethel's link, however, this was a web-cam based forum with immediate interaction of those using it - this is apparently how the 'urging' of some of the heartless and callous b*stards built to a crescendo.

If you do choose to respond to such a thread, I think it only proper to do so as if you believe what the poster says. I think it may have been best if those who felt him to be a faker had just ignored him.............

You may have known 3 people who have committed sucide Jayne but not all suicidal people act the same way before taking their lives.Take it from someone who has tried before many years ago and also not so long ago.I have noticed that lungy is back and I have reported every thread I have seen 'him' post,it doesn't necessarily mean it was him who posted the thread last night.
