I see lots of articles etc that say if you pee alot especially over night it could be a sign of diabetes?

it could also be habit! Youve conditioned your body to wake you up and go to the loo each night

diabetes usually also give a raging thirst during the night as well.

Still, the test is a sinple blood test, either a fasting test (blood taken after 12 hours without food) or a glucose tolerance test (2 samples, one after 12 hour fast, then one 2 hours later having ingested glucose)

speak to your GP
Once a night - you've got nothing to worry about there!

You wee quite often during the day/night
you drink excessively (water)
feel thirsty a lot
loose weight

a simple blood test will reveal all - go & see your GP
my mum & dad suffer with it - so is it in the family?
In answer to your question lubecki "am I diabetic?" the answer is, on the symptoms you have given, I do NOT know and neither does anyone else. Your nightime excursions seem normal to me, but as all the contributers have said, go and see your GP and ask his advice re. blood test and urine test.
I'm sick of getting up in the night to pee aswell.

I think it's middle age.

When you are young your heart rules your head. As you get older the bladder takes over.

Im only 24!
I have diabetes and i don't get up in the night to go to the loo nor do i have raging thirst.
Try not drinking too much water after 6pm and make sure you go to the loo before you go to bed.
Go to the docs to get checked out anyway.
I remember 24

I drank a lot of beer then.

Perhaps that's your problem
Try leaving out the water (water goes straight thru you) and drink something your body has to work on, i.e. milk, hot choc, horlicks, ovaltine and fruit drinks or bevs during the day. These drinks take more digesting and are more nourishing.

Try it for 24 hrs and post back of the results.
