Hi everyone just need some advice because for as long as I can remember I've always had a problem of getting up in the mornings even though I've had more than 7 hrs sleep!
When its time to get up, I feel so tired in the mornings it feels like I've only slept for 3 hrs!
I want to just get up & go instead turning over and going back to sleep! Is this due to my health or something else? I'm a 26yr old female.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Do you want to get up Sonak? What I mean is, do you have something that you want to get up for? eg do you have kids to look after or a job that you love?
I went through a period like you are experiencing and I realised that it wasn't that I couldn't get up, but that deep down I really didn't want to get up. It changed overnight when I changed my job to one which was much more fulfilling.

Hi shivvy thanks for your reply. Yes I do want get up but I just can't because I feel so damn tired! I have no children and I am on a work-placement as I am a part-student. I'm really not sure if its down to my health or not.
Are you tired during the day aswell, or just at alarm clock time?
Are you getting good enough sleep then? Is your room as quiet as it could be? Is it dark enough? Is it well ventilated? Is the bed comfy enough? These things can all have an impact on how well you sleep and although you might be getting 7+ hours sleep, maybe it isn't very good sleep. Have a good critical look at your sleeping arrangements and see if you can make any improvements.

maybe glandular fever??
Hope not though - its horrible!
When i had/have it i feel like this - i could sleep for a day and when i tried to get up it felt like i hadnt slept for days!!! At first you dont get symptons like sore throat etc - by the time you develp the flu like symptoms it will have been i nyour system for up to 8 weeks!
Go to your docs- they may be able to help you figure aout what it is!
I am exactly the same and always have been. I'm 25.I hate getting up and i'm really grumpy for about an hour. I press snooze about 3 times and every last minute in bed is important! Although strangely I dont feel so rubbish if i get up at the same time at the weekend without the alarm... I''v always said i need to find a job that starts about 10 ish everyday. Or better stil, 12.... and finish at 1..with an hour for lunch....

Thanks for all your replys guys!

Sometimes I get tired during the day but its more in the morning.
My room is very dark and nothing really keeps awake.
My partner does have sleep apnea and is a loud snorer but he has had this for a while and I've just got use to it!

To lollyone - I'm glad I'm not the only one! How do u cope?
Try jumping straight in the shower as soon as you drag yourself out of bed, that normally wakes me up a bit. I dont think it'll change now at our age though. I used to think it was being a teenager but that excuse ran out a good few years ago!!
let me tell you i don't think its your health your just as lazy as myself... hate getting out of bed, no matter how much sleep i have had. i'm that bad i will set the alarm for another 5 mins always been like that always will be! thats why i'm always late will never change and probably you wont either, sorry to tell you but its true!
yippee!! my answer went straight through!!!! thank you very much AB greatly appreciated!!!
ok you still want to play games with me AB, taking my answers off........ again!
I'm the same and I'm 29. No matter what time I go to bed and how much sleep I have, in the mornings I can't seem to wake up until around 11:00am. People at work joke that you shouldn't talk to me until then! I just put it down to not being a 'morning person'!
