Any ideas how much weight a person would lose roughly, say in a week, if they suddenly started walking 20 mins (or 2,500 steps) every day but continued to eat the same food?

thats it a 10 mile run for you now . lol

I changed my routine lately and now walk to work, walk back at lunch break. and I'm salads every day for dinner now. Could you try just chaging your lunch and cutting out any snacks?
Question Author
Yeah Ill try that forget. I do like salads but then again I do like coleslaw and mayonnaise and chips etc with it!

sleepy - yes both of those things, sometimes I get fed up and sometimes it doesnt bother me that much. I have put on about 4 or 5 stone in 10 years, am size 20 so not good, dont look particularly fat as Im 5ft 8 but I do look bigger than I should.
try making sald night before so you dont feel rushed at lunch. I have cucumber, tomato, celery, lettuce and I chop up crab sticks. then I mix up light mayo with ketchup into a sauce and poor it over. Absoluely lovely. :-)
Question Author
Yum. You have that for lunch everyday?
well I try. wednesdays I go round my mums and you know what mums are like, so I had hotdogs today :-) lol
and I couldnt tell you if it works have been at it 4 2 weeks now. but will see. :-)

So basically you are walking more and eating healthy food, it should be working by now surely. Do you not eat anything unhealthy? How long each day do u walk for?
I started running for 20 min before work every week day, I've been doing it for a 2 weeks now and I have lost a few lbs if that helps... I too have continued to eat the same as usual, but upped my water intake.

I generally do a few excercise classes a week, and have done for a few years, so the added excercise to my normal routine has actually made a bit of a difference. Getting up half an hour earlier has also seemingly given me more energy, and I feel more alert when I get to work.

Can't do you any harm..... as long as your hearts pumping you're burning claories.
Question Author
Well a few pounds is good in 2 weeks, Ill keep walking then , see what happens. thanks.
good for you liquidspace.

my phliosopy is its not how much you weigh but how you feel!
(havent weighed myself for agessss)

If your clothes feel looser and you have more energy then thats just great!!

I told my wife to walk 3 miles every morning and 3 miles every evening. A week later she is now 42 miles away the fat cow.
