Empty Shelves

I've been preparing for a lot of missing items on our large Morrisons Click and Collect order today.

Result: missing fine sea salt which I find strange. But it's only Hubby who uses it to make bread. I use sea salt flakes.

Two other items substited with missing brands. That's fine

Missing conference pears.

Just wondering whether click and collect gets preference over shopping in store, because we've really had very few problems over the last two yesrs?

I have my groceries delivered by Tesco and have had very few substitutions or items unavailable.

I wouldn't imagine anyone gets preferential treatment. Staff go around collecting orders from the shelves. If the item isn't on the shelf it's not available to walk in customers either.

We always choose the first slot they of the day Naomi and I have never seen any staff walking around packing orders in our Morrisons. I know they have a large holding area for click and collect with freezers installed and special staff allocated. Perhaps not all branches work like that.

Roy, I did think of putting it in news and blaming Brexit for the missing salt but I couldn't find a link!!!

We shop in-store in Morrisons, and the only things we have noticed missing lately have been semolina and Kleenex tissues, both are available now.

There is not a shortage of anything, just big delays in getting the goods to the supermarket, hence more empty gaps until delivery. The main problem I've found is that fresh fruit and veg, is not that fresh any more, this indicates to me that it is a transport problem. The longer its waiting to be delivered, the shorter the shelf life. Canned fish in oil from over seas seem now to be hit and miss?

Oleanda I couldn't get Kleenex Tissues from Waitrose either. In fact no Dry tissues at all.

Aldi seem to have done well regarding their logistics. But again in my area even they have struggled with fruit and veg at times.

oleanda/ladybirder, Tissues are a problem. I go through loads! We got them in Lidls last week. Morrisons could only supply the extra large ones at twice the price.

pat 12.20, yep I eat loads of sardines in olive oil and they have been hard to get hold of for months, and when they do get a shipment they have gone in a day or two. The ones in tomy sauce loads but not for me, so I can only assume its the olive oil supply that's the problem
