Sadly, it's not me...but DD and her partner. They are going to Cancun. I hope they get their sunshine for the coming winter days. :)

Its highly unlikely its going to P down in Mexico ;-)

Cancun -depends on what you want from a holiday -not for me but anyone wanting sun sea sand and water sports ( oh and golf) its paradise. nothing you can't get nearer home though and for me not worth the 10 hour flight.

They love traveling APG and it's a part of the world they've not been to. I suspect they just want sun and sea this time...first trip since August of last year.

I remember when Cancun was considered new and exotic. So many years ago.

My DD and her partner went to The Dominican Republic they loved it. It was all inclusive and not busy. They did go to an Adults only place though.

I know lots of retired Canadians go down there for the winter, its a lot cheaper than Florida.

APG, how do you know what Mexico is like if you haven't been there? The buzz of Cancun doesn't reflect the rest of Mexico - not in the least. We love it. Beautiful beaches, exotic wildlife and fascinating history.

Afraid I'm not off on holiday, but my niece flew to Spain on Tuesday to stay with her son and his wife who she hasn't seen for 2 years. Photos look fabulous in the sunshine.

My Eldest daughters 'in laws' have a house in Cancun near Playa Mujeres Golf Club. She was married there with the reception at the club. We stayed 5 days and visited a number of places. This was around 10 years ago. You could not pay me to go back.
