I've just come across an amusing quotation from G B Shaw :-

"The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one."


P.S. Noteworthy that Shaw's love affair with spelling reform shows up clearly with "skeptic"
