What was the 'Anster Foy'

I believe Anster is the proper way to pronounce Anstruther in Fife, Scotland. And Foy is an old word for feast, drink or gift given to someone about to leave, and is also an obsolete word for faith or allegiance

Any ideas?

Yes, Anster is one way to say Anstruther and Foy means faith but still don't quite get the question.
