Do we have to inform DVLA or our insurance company that my OH has had half of his little finger amputated?

IM, avoiding the puerile nose picking references on this link, further down there are some links which might be helpful http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=1259258
No......I cannot see the amputation of the distal phalanx of the little finger, hampering in any way the safe manoeuvring of a vehicle.

Thanks for the answers, I didn't think that it was necessary, but I thought that Id just check.

oh dear, i am sorry to read that - is he ok?
Question Author
Yes, he's fine thanks - he's had three operations on his finger in two years, which have actually made it worse than it was, it stuck out at an angle and was a real nuisance for him so when he saw the surgeon this time he asked for it to be amputated, which happened yesterday. I'm sure things will be much better for him now.
