Right at the top of my inner thigh right side I have been itchy for a few months now on and off. However I dismissed it and when I had a look in the mirrow last night there was a red circle about the size of a golf ball! It is raised around the circumference. It is really strange and looks like it could be bad. What is it do I need to see a doctor?

What do you mean by could be bad? Is it a red circle with a clear middle?
Question Author
well I cant see clearly as its hard to look at in the mirror but the edge of the cirle is very defined.
Long shot - ringworm? Would need an anti fungal. I am NOT medically trained. See a doc. if it doesn't go away.
If it is a circle but clearer skin in the middle it could be ringworm which will clear up easily with an antifungal cream from the chemist.
I think it sounds like ringworm too. (It's not really a worm, so don't freak out!)

I have no medical background either, so don't go by what I say!

I'd get down to the local chemist or make an appointment at your GP.

I have fungal skin infection all over my body. I leave it untreated because it just keeps coming back and its a pain trying to put all this cream on my back all the time. The doctor says this is linked to Asthma. Well I hope it isnt a worm!
Could it not be a trapped hair follicle?
You leave a fungal infection "all over your body" untreated?

It is not a worm, thats just a name due to shape. I got it after not treating allergic dermatitis on my arms, so it is important that you treat both any allergy and the fungus infection. Hopefully if you can clear it up it will stay away for a long time.
Hint - if there's a part of your body that you're having trouble seeing, use a camera phone or digital camera to take a picture of it. You can then zoom in to see it in detail.

WARNING - ensure automatic social sharing is disabled if doing this on a smartphone.
Is that part of being 'pure'? I don't know much about fungal conditions-but I'd worry about transmitting it to the baby-or wife even.

Well I have been Its not contagious I hope.
It ISN'T a worm! Google it, you'll see pictures and then you might be able to compare.
Question Author
Googled it and yes that is it! What happens if I just leave it? I have very small lesion looking things all over my body thatcan only be seen when I get out of a hot bath
I don't know what would happen if untreated. What are the other rashes you have, what is the medical name for these fungal infections?
If ringworm is not treated, your skin could blister, and the cracks could become infected with bacteria. If this happens, you will need antibiotics.
Question Author
I was hoping that my new healthy eating and exercise regime will illiminate the need for these creams
Rub an owl on it.
If you leave ringworm it will spread -others in your household can catch it from using towels you have used and your partner could catch it from sexual contact. It is highly contagious though not life threatening. Surely you are not leaving your body covered in fungal infection? There is no need for this -I am sure your GP or even chemist can provide something you can put into a bath. Your diet can aggravate fungal conditions and its advised to steer clear of anything with yeast in and mushrooms. I am not a medical doctor but common sense should prevail here -go get sorted!
Sounds fungal.....get Lamisil Cream from your chemist.
