Playing it cool

Out of the blue last week, was invited out to lunch with a female work contact. Went really well- e-mailed her afterwards to say thanks, and asked her if she was free for a social drink this week ( we're definitely both single). She said yes, but is busy and would let me know when she is free.By coincedence, we've both been away on long weekends.

Question is, should I chase it, or play it cool? Come on girls, what should the man be doing?

i definately think a bit of chasing is liked by most females.  Obviously do not want you turning into a pest but definately allow the week in which she said she was busy to pass and mention again.
I'd play it cool but not TOO much!
Yes, absolutely. Most women would be flattered by a bit of chasing, just don't turn into a mad stalker! Leave in a few days, then contact her - casually suggest that you've got an evening / whatever free, and would she like to get together.
Good luck!
as a woman i say play it cool, like you could care less if you go out or not. wait a couple days then go out for a drink and tell her where you will be if she wants to join.

It's extremely unlikely that she'll get back to you. She want's to make you get back to her so she can feel superior at best at worst she wants to humiliate you by rejecting you. You must not get back to her, if she's interested she'll get back but I doubt it or she would have accepted straight away. Everyone knows if they are free after work within the next week so if she was interested she would have accepted your suggestion or proposed one of her own. Tell you what if she does get back and I'll eat my words!

did she get back? Must I eat my words?

Just to say Loosehead, you were right. Haven't heard a dicky bird. She rang up about work, didn't mention my invite for a drink, sounded really sheepish.

You don't have to eat your words!
