Would lactulose elevate my blood sugars? I've had a couple of unexpected raised sugars, and that's the only thing I could think of. ( I only take it when I feel as if I might need it, not every day.)

Thank you all for your help.
A definate YES. My father inlaw (diabetes type 2) took it as he was constipated after strong pain killers for a broken rib. He ended up in hospital (been there 3 weeks now - court a bug) due to VERY high blood sugars and keytones - due to Lactulose.

I do hope that your father-in-law is better now, angie - I should have thought about the lactulose earlier, but it didn't occur to me. I've an appointment with the dabetic nurse tomorrow, and imagine that I will get a reprimand to think more in future!(which, of course, I should!)
