I did all my Christmas grocery shopping online last Friday, £90 worth and it was supposed to be delivered tonight. they've just called and cancelled due to the weather. it is snowing quite heavily.
they offered (kindly) to let me pick it up (it's about 5 miles away, and I can't get there) or have a refund. I really don't see when I'll get time to get it done now. I'm working tomorrow and Weds and there may not be much left in the shops on Christmas Eve. I don't have turkey or anything!
I can't decide whether to stamp my feet a bit. what do you think?

Isn't it a *** when you get winter weather in winter!
I really don't see how they could have got everyones orders to them in the allotted slot when the roads are clogged up as they are, or is it just your delivery that they should have prioritised?
There aren't many people who haven't been inconvienced in some way by the weather this week.
Life's like that; no-one died, get over it!
(Mind you, that said, I would be gnashing my teeth a bit as well) lol.

my work is 10 miles in one direction, the supermarket is about 5 miles the other way. I live a considerable distance from Somerset ;o)

thanks all. I guess I'll go on Christmas eve and hope there is something left for my family.

mine is supposedly coming tomorrow night, however, seeing as it took me 3 hours to do a 10 mile journey home today (at 2pm!) and i saw 3 accidents on the way home, and had a little skid (in more ways than one!) myself, i guess i will understand if they cancel me!
you don't live in berkshire by any chance?
