My daughter got set on by 2 young women at a party.....and had her hair pulled...enough to cause a lot of breakage....and her head and scalp were quite bumpy and sore this morning.
She is worried that this may cause permanent damage to her hair....is that possible, and what can she do?

sorry to hear that pasta. There are vitamins for hair that may health and there is also a new hair treatment i read about in a magazine that can stimulate hair growth.
Perhaps she could speak to a doctor or a reputable hair salon for advice
I would think that if the hair roots are still there it should grow back in time - your poor daughter!
I very much doubt that your daughter has anything to worry about. If you take a fall you can rip the skin off your hands knees and elbows but it always grows back again, complete with all of the hair follicles. The damage to your daughter's scalp seems to be less severe than that, So it would seem reasonable to assume that the skin (including its hair follicles) would fully recover.

Further, a guy who used my local pub in Sheffield (many years ago) was working for a utility company, in an inspection pit in the road, when a car burst through the barriers straight towards him. He ducked down and avoided a direct blow from the car but his hair got caught in the vehicle and it 'scalped' the whole of the top of his head. He certainly looked rather odd when he next came into the pub but the skin fairly quickly grew again and he regained a full head of hair, with no signs of damage.

oooh ouch pasta.....poor thing. I recommend a salt rinse to scalp with plain water rinse immediately after (to heal any abrasions).

Hair conditioned, leaving on for 15m & wrapped in in towel to heat - then rinsed off, (to strengthen hair-strands from breakage).

Hope she gave as good as she got!
I had all my long hair cut off the other week, and the hairdresser told me that Kelp is fantastic for strengthening and thickening the hair. xx
when I was 19 a large chunk of my hair was ripped out by industrial machinery at work, it did grow back fine.

in fact my hair is annoyingly long now, it gets caught in car doors and windows now
