have had gel nails on for probably about 3 years in total...has anyone been to hav ethem taken off with out having them put on?? I have fairly strong nails - one has come off today and my nail is not paper thin or sore - apart from a few straggly bits they look fine!
So am tempted to have them all taken off - what do they do? Do they coat them in something if they are a bit thin? thanks

If you do have them taken off nannon, make sure you treat yourself to a manicure after. Keep your natural nails short, until any dryness and/or damage has grown out. If they are ok straight after, make sure you wear polish (basecoat, 2 layers varnish and top coat) to protect them and give them extra coverage.
I'm sure your technician will have natural nail remedies such as OPI Nail Envy or the like that you can use afterwards.

Mine were very thin and horrible when they got taken off. The white nail bit wasnt a perfect line across and they were just dry, flakey and broke all the time.
I wore mine for a year and have now had them off for 2 months and they are getting much better after almond oil each day and a nail strenghner , but i have now learnt not to have them back on and just go for regular manicures instead which is better for your nails and a little cheaper too!
