had gel nails put on (i don't know much about nails, hope you know what i mean) a few weeks ago, and they were fine. i found the filing down of the nail quite uncomfortable though. anyway, had my infills done today and now my nails are soooooo sore. i think she filed down too much, at one point my sking under my nail was bleeding. are they meant to hurt this much, should i change nail technician?

I've been having them done for years. They get sore from the filing because the ral nail is thin. My nail technician has often broken the skin under my nails so it bleeds, she's also a good friend so I tell her when it hurts. Don't be polite, just tell her!

do you think they will feel ok after a couple of days?
Yeah, they def should do. If not, maybe they didn't do a good job and find someone else.
Hi I have had gel nails and they can get a bit sore from over enthusiastic filing. They should settle down, but why not phone the salon and ask them, that is if you trust them to give good advice. If you don't then I would phone another one for some advice, or if your college has a beauty section then I would try them! Cheers Sue
hi, i am a beautician, and although your nails can feel sore after havinh them done, they shouldnt bleed. the nail technician is being too rough. i would ring the salona nd say you are asking for advice about whether they should still be sore, as then the nail technician will be made aware of the pain she is causing!! then id change salons. next time you have them done, explain you found it painful last time, the therapist wont know unless u tell her! hope this helps!
