It is very expensive

You`re not wrong there jomifl. I think it`s something like £60 per pot which I would never buy (unless it worked of course).

Very expensive and only the very rich or very stupid would fork out UP TO £100 for a jar of that. Touche Eclat is a product that women swear by, and I can't even afford to try that
Of course I have, Trim ;-)

Touch Eclat is something completely different. It hides undereye shadows and it does work. There are cheaper alternatives that work though.
I bought Touche Eclat once and don't get what the fuss is, wouldn't buy it again. Creme de la Mer is too expensive to warrant buying, let us know if you're transformed 237 and I might change my mind.

I will do Prudie. I don`t think I will be transformed but it`s nice to have a chance to try the stuff out (I won it at work).
what a nice pressie, I'm sure we'd all like to try it if it were free, Chris especially.

Chris will have to make sure he has a good shave first to get rid of the designer stubble. It will be a waste to slap something like Creme de la Mer on his chops if he doesn`t.
Aldi do a verysion of Touch Eclat which is just as good and I use it everyday. I was brought Touch Eclat by a friend and thought it was ok... but didn't see what the massive fuss was about.

It retails around £100 plus. I have tried it, and liked it but it's not something I could afford to use often....which maybe defeats the purpose of it!

Well I`ve now used it for a couple of nights and it`s very greasy. You only need a tiny bit. I like to feel I`ve put something on my face. If it just disappears then I think it is predominately water and just evaporates off. I expect most of it came off on the pillow but my face didn`t feel dry this morning. My verdict is that it`s OK but no better than any other cream.
At the other end of the scale a lot of people really rate the cosmetics sold in Aldi. I keep meaning to try them myself, when I next need to stock up.

I recently bought some Boxtops. I used the night cream but unfortunately it gave me spots (and I`ve never suffered from spots in my life)
I tried it when it was £75 for a small jar (don't know the current price). It's nowhere near as good as La Prairie's Cellular Radiance range, but I've tried everything over the years and I swear you can't go wrong with Lancome.
We all know it's only glueing dead skin cells back and none of it penetrates the skin but we all fall for it everytime
Me too
I bought a jar, paid about £75 for it. As you say the blurb sounds great, very scientific. It is very greasy, I applied it at night and each morning I found that my face got greasier and more shiny. I did not see any improvement in the condition of my skin. I took the jar into the beauticians that I go to and they looked at the ingredients. They were shocked to see mineral oil listed, which according to them is the nastiest, cheapest ingredient you can use!
According to Bad Science, a book that debunks a lot of myths around scientific research, we may all as well use vaseline, our skin needs feeding from inside out, so anything we put on the top is not going to do a lot of good!
I still can't help falling for all those lovely promises and nice images though!
Thanks
Sue

You`re right sue11. I was talking to my colleague the other day and she said that when you buy these expensive products, you buy a dream.
You should go into the science section on here and see my question of a few weeks ago titled Collagen and read the Prof`s answer!
