Unable to view the small pics on youtube

I have noticed that the small pics that are always visible to the right on youtube are no longer visible. All I see are blank white squares rather then the normal pics that are to be there. I never had this problem before so am confused as to what happened. I have I.E 8 and using windows 7. Any advice will be much appreciated!
