In the play, The Wasps, is the main and issue to make fun of Cleon, and the way he manipulates the system, or are their other important issues?

No it is not the main point.I dont have a copy of the wasps so i cant read the introduction. I will have to go away and read it though.

The greek comedies were not high street productions put on for money and so on. I thought they had religious significance andwere put on at festivals, they attracted prizes (and were performed more than once more than at one festival ie they were revived). The comedies wer allowed contemporary allusions - hence Cleon.

A's c Clouds mention Socrates - i do have a copy of this - although i would not say it is ABOUT Socrates....more later if i can find out about it
