i purchased a framed picture today for 1.00.
It is entitled "8410 Infanta (Rose). Frame No. MA812. Artist Velasquez.
The sticker is from Catalda Fine Arts, Inc, NY.

Can anyone tell me anything about this picture?

Can you see your painting on this page?

Velazquez painted several Infantas, as you can see so I am not sure which is yours. Does Rose refer to her name or is it a nickname because of the colour of her dress or a flower she is wearing? If you look up the Spanish Royal family in the 17 century, you may find out more about her.

Thanks! The picture I have must be "Infanta Marguarite Therese" according to what I viewed here. I love the picture. I just wonder if it has any worth?

I'm sure it's something they sold at Catalda Fine Arts Inc in NY. I purchased it at at estate auction. How would I find out more about it I wonder.
