Have just read Seamus Heaneys 'Mid Term Break'
How sad/lovely/heartbreaking/innocent it is.

Hmm I'm into all sorts of poetry, but maybe try...

Phillip Larkin
Ted Hughes
Sylvia Plath
Wendy Cope
Simon Armitage
WH Auden

All different, but if you read a couple of poems by them, you'll get a flavour of their style etc.
Check out your library, most will have at least a couple of decent anthologies you can use to get a good idea of the styles and quality of a wide range of poets. I,ve always liked William Blake, W.H.Auden and though he's out of fashion and considered to be not quite P.C. I quite like some of Kiplings pieces. Still it all comes down to personal choice in the end, so as I suggested check a few anthologies you'll be surprised by the range and quality of the stuff thats available
I am at work now and I have just read the Heaney poem. I did Heaney and Larkin for Alevel about 5 years ago. I will now go home and read them all again. it is heartbreaking
you might try:
The man with night sweats by Thom Gunn,
personally I like Christina Rosetti and Eavan Boland.

Try second hand book shops and car boots, if you buy ones from there and don't like them, the local charity shop is always grateful of donations.
Hi,read Pablo Neruda.
Read T S Eliot, The wasteland and the hollow men, the best two poems ever.
oh yes and on a raised beach by hugh mcdiarmid,
