the Poll results do not in any way reflect the Most Inspirational Woman - they reflect the tastes and opinions of the readership who complete the Poll.

That's why SC is top - not because he deserves it - a moot point as i am sure even she will agree, but that's how these things work.

In my teens, i ranted and raved regularly when the Annual Groups Poll results were published. How on earth could Don powell of Slade be voted 'Best Drummer' and not John Bonham? How could Dave Hill or Marc Bolan be 'Best Guitarist' when Jimmy Page was in his pomp?

Simple - it's not that Slade or T.Rex have more fans - just more fans who completed the Poll form and sent it in. Slade fans will vote for their guys in each catafgory - regardless of how deserrving they are. So Don Powell gets voted as a 'better' drummer than JB, which everyone, including Don, would agree is a travesty.

That's how Polls like this work. It does not reflect CC aspirational credentials, it reflects the size and type of her fan base - nothig more.
