I know it's been asked before but I think a "Delete your own post button" would be a good idea, as Ed knows of late I have needed Ed's help in removing a couple of my posts. How much easier to just hit a button.

Actually Neti, reasons have been given in the past that this wouldn't be right because it is a Question and Answer site so our important answers should remain.

However.....................

I agree with you. Many are the times when I post something and want to remove it!!
It would be abused by the trolls...
Oh neti, have you been posting whilst drunk again?
I agree neti, it would save being there when you're not so at least you could have a right to reply which I am in favour of also you/I may regret the tone of a post which doesn't real well to others but by the time you try explaining this, it gets lost and often the thread detracts from the original one
<read>
And you risk the users responding to you look silly...
How, ummmm?

They could only remove their own postings, not those of others.
Report your own post and ask for it to be removed.
So someone calls me a bitch...I respond and then they delete their post.
exactly LL
It would be abused..
Troll posts provocative post. Several replies accumulate. Troll removes their post. Confusion all round I'm afraid.
So than you delete your response ummmm! Would save a lot of on line arguments!!
I am always confused anyway on troll posts!!
LL why are you a jellyman now?
What if we're not about to do that?
I agree it would be abused.
I like the idea. There is stuff I have posted before which I wish wasn't there now but I agree in practice it wouldn't be a good thing.

Just need to remind myself of the rule, once it's on the internet, it's there forever.
Why am I a jellyman? I just got fed up with looking at that sour old face - it's getting to be quite accurate!!

Oh lottie, I loved that old sour face. brought me comfort!

Well I only asked cos a couple of times lately I've tried to put up a photo from fb on here and it has revealed all personal details, and the other time I tried to put up a lovely piccy of a horse playing hide and seek, from an email I received, well blow me even though I had "Viewed imaged" there was my email sign-in page and password for all and sundry to see. Ed removed them pdq, but you see, this is why I want a delete button, cos I knew immediately that they had to be removed asap before anyone (whoever) saw them!
