My darling daughter has gotten a nice patch on the carpet in her room where she spilt hot wax. I feel there is no hope....but I will ask anyway: Is there any way to remove this??

Have you tried putting some absorbent paper over the mark and then running a warm iron over it? I seem to remember that this works best with brown paper.

Yep, warm iron and brown paper is best however, a tea towel or kitchen roll will work too

It will take some time though as you will need to do it over and over

Good luck!
First place an ice cube bag on the area to make the wax brittle (use a plastic pot cleaner to help remove all the 'extra' wax off) then use the absorbant paper and iron to lift the stuff in the fibres of carpet.
Parafin should remove it....

Alternatively buy Wax Remover.
