Questions on crosswords can appear under either the main section Quizzes and Puzzles or the sub-section Crosswords. Most people appear to use the main section, but some use the sub-section and members are forced to look under both headings. Would it be a good idea to dispense with the sub-section and have all crossword related questions directly under the main heading Quizzes and Puzzles?

This is a very old chestnut ..... fiercely debated when the 'crossword' subsection was first introduced .... look back into the archives - there is a lot of history on this subject .....

It's a shambles caused by an over-zealous AbEd at the time of the change - who wouldn't listen to the almost unanimous view of the abers that a subsection was not needed .....crossword questions far outnumber the rest, yet crosswords was consigned to a subsection ....

This is also linked to the old debate as to whether the heading (e.g. Quizzes and Puzzles) should be just that, a heading.

Existing abers at the time of change largely voted not to use the subsection 'crossword' ---

Many thanks for the background information. I am sure many overlook the need to look under both. I wonder if the current editor might like to reconsider
I agree DGR, as athenae says it's an old chesnut - Maybe it's time to resurrect this issue again and see if the present AB Ed will do someting about it. We can but hope.
"Food & Drink" is even worse: you can post a question into the main heading and also in the sub-sections "Food" and "Drinks" !
You know how it is, users want one thing, the host forces them to have so many rooms. The only way is to stay away from the new ones or to leave the party.
