Please do whatever needs to be done so when one clicks on the topic in 'Recent Post' they will be taken to the last post on that thread and not the beginning of the thread. It is very annoying and unaccommodating when you have to keep clicking to the last page each time the last post needs to be read. I hope you understand my suggestion.

Thanks!

But what if it the first visit to that question?

It will then be very annoying and unacommodating to keep clicking Previous 20 the necessary number of times to reach the first page.

If there are 101 answers you only need to click Last Page once but if taken to the last page you would need to click Previous 20 five times!

I understand Kempie but it gets very, very annoying when you are following a thread.
Surely if it is set to go to the last post read, if you haven't read the question at all, it will start at the beginning.

This method works perfectly well elsewhere, and is very useful.

To be truly perfect, once logged in, each question should have either a New, Updated or Static icon next to it.
I agree, society. In the normal way of things, when you enter a thread via the section pages, you go to the first page, and that's fine. But the whole point of the Recent Post pod is to highlight the newest additions; if you click on it, chances are you're looking for this, not the first post.
I didn't realise that Recent posts was exclusively designed so that ABers could hover in anticipation of a new post appearing within a thread in which they are participating. I use it to scan for questions which I may otherwise miss because I find it difficult to be in all Topic sections at once.

haha! Kempie you learn something new eh :-)

I guess everyone uses it to their own advantage, what ever suits their purpose.
well, there are only four threads on show at one time, so it's a fairly limited guide to recent threads; what it does is tell you what questions people are answering right now. Which is how I've just arrived here.
I see where I'm going wrong... my preferred modus operandi (although not exclusively so as evidenced by this thread) is to answer a specific question and leave it at that, not enter into protracted discussion la DiscussionBank.

C'est la vie
Actually, I've just seen this in the Ed's blog:

As you know we have added a new feature to AB, the 'recently posted' pod which highlights the most recent posts on AB and allows you to see who's where on the site and what they're asking.

So evidently it's intended as some kind of aid to stalkers.

Can you see me!
