Can we have the football category back under the main sport heading on the main answerbank site,, thus giving us the old format back that we much preferred.. Then have a link for 'All other sports' to take you to the sports answerbank that the majority of people detest??

Your thoughts would be appreciated

Thanks

hello toon hows it going mate. if you look to your right there is a brick wall - talk to that then bang your head against it.
by the way the casualty figures for any question mentioning the old sports section being better are astronomical so be prepared.
like dogs with a bone.
So all of us who don't like football but who enjoy other sports will still have to suffer!!!? ;o)

Hello dilf me favourite mackem!

I know its like banging your head against a wall, some response from ed would be nice though. Did we ever get a reason for its change??? and why other categories were not linked into other websites??
toon - want to take bets on how long your question will stay here??
mine lasted for about 17hrs efc.
whats the big deal about keeping it that way and not giving any feedback to the punters
its a bit like barry venison in as much as barry venison looks nowt like barry venison
Don't think the Ed is too happy with us lot! AB posted a pink question and I had the audacity to suggest that it should be in another section, result - my answer banned. I wasn't rude, just pointing this out! Actually I found it quite amusing:-o)

Oh and it was nothing to do with sport btw!
i cannot understand the new sports section and it is too busy and time consuming, good job i don't want to use it.

I need it to stay until 3.47am tomorrow to beat the record then!! lol................ Mind you me just saying that will probably get it removed.

All i want is an answer to my suggestion, it may not be what i like but hey you gotta ask!.

The main thing that sticks out is that its not just a couple of people who want it changed back, its a huge percentage of the users. Surely AB must realise that the usage in the sports section has reduced hugely in the past few weeks?? Is that what they want though?
When you say "a huge percentage," what is that percentage exactly?
What percentage, only AB will know that, take a look and see the questions, the whole site is crap, (in my opinion).
Marvelman, if toonmilo is making statements such as "The main thing that sticks out is that its not just a couple of people who want it changed back, its a huge percentage of the users." then he should have the figures himsel.

If you think the whole site is crap then why are you here still?
Question Author
Corby, .........there was a poll done in the sports section which i believe 97% wanted the sports section changed back to the format that every other category has.

I do not think the whole site is crap, but the new sports section is!! I'm entitled to voice my opinion and am trying to get a response from the ED.

I thought hammerheads thread on comparison to a restaurant was excellent!!
TCL
- the petition thread in the sports section (that was removed) had 46 replies - didn't see one single answer saying 'keep the new sports section'

- have read numerous postings on here saying 'give us the old sports section back', haven't yet seen one saying 'keep the new sports section'

- read loads of posts saying 'hate the new sports section', have yet to read one saying 'love it'.

- the Ed won't provide us with statistics so we can only go off what we read

I think it is quite clear toonmilo is quite correct in saying that the majority of people want the old site back!

ED, just read your blog, it says on April 13th that you have had some feedback on the new sports section and the majority of which has been positive. Can you show any evidence of this positive feedback from the majority of users??

I'm sure Corbyloon will pick you up on not quoting exact figures too!
I must admit that 97% is a huge majority of those who posted in one thread but as I have said previously about the AB Polls it is meaningless without knowing the numbers involved.

I had a look at the post by Leighton as it gives a breakdown of the replies

First off, here is the actual question for those who could not read it all because of that big, stupid "A"

Who wants the Sports AnswerBank site shutting down so we can all go back to www.answerbank.co.uk for our sporting banter???

And here are the results:

We got a total of 46 replies until it was unfortunately cut short just before it reached its half century!

YES - 36
NO - 2
Other comments - 6

Also, allotment10 answered YES 3 times! This could be counted as another 2 YES votes. But I decided not to include these in the 36 total, because I think that a 36 total out of 38 votes, in favour of the original answerbank says it all really!

So, by my calculations, I make it that 94.7% of SAB users want the Sports AnswerBank site shutting down so we can all go back to www.answerbank.co.uk for our sporting banter!

POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

p.s I hope some of you get to read this before it is banned

Firstly, there were negative responses and secondly, thirty-six positive responses out of forty-six posts represents 78.2% of the replies.

If percentages only are quoted they sound impressive but when the numbers involved are known, they are not.

I do not know how many folk are members of this site but I would think it runs into the hundreds if not thousands (that is the impression at least.)

Thirty-six folk opposed to the change is not that large a number and if you think of all the many who called for the return of ChatterBank, I doubt you will be successful.
bring back the ginger bint...she wud have goven us back our sports section
-Zorro- I see yir debating skills are improving by leaps and bounds...
bring back the ginger bint is what you were trying to say in your last post tcl. cos this mofo we're lumbered with is like maggie thatchers bad week. i bet they stick pins in her effigy in the AB office.
they say that she employs a seventeen year old boy to be her footstool.

and she's got a tache
Not a lot of people seem to like the new sports section, yet AB don't like anyone posting negatively about it (seems like a lot of these posts just disappear!)
So, what is the point in there being a suggestion area when the suggestions that are not to AB's liking go *poof*?
To solve this once and for all here's a SUGGESTION AB, use your little poll box at the top of the homepage to find out once and for all!! Then EVERYONE would know and it would be there for all to see! End of.
