Anybody seen this?

How do you think the issue about the teaching of sexual and family diversity is going to be resolved? Especially as the temperature will be raised further next year when it becomes a legal(?) requirement on all primary schools to instruct their pre-pubescent pupils about same-sex marriage.

It seems to me that there's an intractable contradiction in an educational policy which promotes the idea that homosexuality is "OK" to the children of parents who think it is not.

But I'm not that an imaginative person. The British have a gift for compromise (we are told). What's the likely British compromise here?

I don't understand the point Peter is making in his post. Interpreters please.

He clearly undertsands the point of the question he's commenting on.
doo dah - in the Golden Bough pointed out
that Hindus married trees hundreds of years ago - kept the land in the family apparently

( it always boils down to money - girls - honestly)
Question Author
The Golden Bough. I don't believe it. (Go all Meldrew). Is that Frazer, innit?

Next minute he'l be talkin about Robert Graves's "The White Goddess".
oh, PP here
there are these building called schools and they teach young people mostly under 16 - well try to

and part of the teaching is tolerance. They teach the children to treat those in the school ( and outside ) who are gay as they do anyone else, that is with tolerance and freedom

those young people INSIDE the building ( we call them school children ) who are gay, like the advice towards tolerance. I think that they dont like having the crap kicked out of them at breaktimes and look forward to a time of being.... unmolested.

the parents dont like it

On marrying trees. Anybody remember the beautifully crafted, but idiotically dubbed Japanese film Onibaba? Widowed mum and widowed daughter trapping knights and selling the samurai armour.

Mum hugs tree and cries orgasmically "I love you like crazy".
I can't tolerate intolerance !
golden *** ...... white monkey ( book by Galsworthy whose signature of his call to the Bar Middle Temple is exactly below that of Mahatma Gandhi)

you see Vet - if you READ the post - you really do understand it - (but it is funnier if you say you dont, coz this is AB)
oh, the japanese do it better
Didn't see that. Only oriental film series I recall seeing is the Water Margin (I think it was called). Enjoyed that.
Question Author
Ah, got an answer, i.e. contemptible rationalisation. Bullying people who are "different" is bad. Therefore homosexual relationships are necessarily good.

And, meanwhile, are you quite sure you're a boy/girl? Because if you're not not we've got ways of "reassigning" you to your correct gender. Drugs, hormones - knife. That kind of stuff.

l grow up without
Clearly.

Children sometimes peruse these pages and read the content, shake their heads and ask an older relative - "Are these people real?"
Question Author
I'm a bit confused (OK, don't laugh). Galsworthy was a novellist innit? Foresight sagger? The golden thing was a sexual indiscretion caught on camera by the KGB or, possibly, an anthropological work.

Tell you what, mate: so so many questions, so little time.
Question Author
(Comes back to me now. Eric Portman banging Susan Hampshire. All in black and white.)
Question Author
Poor Susan. No #MeToo or women's refuge to turn to.
"Are these people real?"

Oddly enough, when I happen to hear 'young people' talking I often think exactly the same.

Seldom the twain.
For some yes, having just translated some of the above it can be hard reconciling the two.
